What would be better on a cold winter day than
French Onion Soup
4 cups onions, peeled and cut into slivers
1/2 cup butter or margarine
4 cups water
4 beef bouillon cubes
1 Teaspoon salt
1 Teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1 Tablespoon sugar
2 Tablespoons flour
Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
French bread
Over medium heat, brown onions and butter covered, about 15 minutes. Mix flour and water together. Add sugar, salt and bouillon cubes. Pour all ingredients except cheese and bread into a big pot. Cook on low for until done. When ready to serve, put soup into individual bowls, place a lice of bread on top and top with cheese. Place bowls on cookie sheet, pop in oven. Broil until cheese melts.
One of my favorite soups! Thanks for the recipe!!!
