Good morning! I have been selected to make the first guest post. This is a wonderful day for this as I woke up to sunshine and above average temperatures here in central Minnesota. The snow is melting and I can maybe see some green grass!
I am Patricia (Pat) Jarrett and my shop's name is The Sunflower Cupboard. I am a decorative/tole painter and designer.
This is a sampling of some of my items that have been listed in Etsy. These are finished items.
I have always been interested in arts and crafts. Art in high school was one of my favorite classes. I have been handcrafting for decades, trying many different things. I took my first decorative painting class in 1985 and knew after the first class that I wanted to paint. And here I am decades later and that is what I am doing! My children are all grown and I am now fortunately able to devote a greater portion of time to my painting. I sometimes look at the time I am painting as my therapy time.
I paint on wood, canvas, tin, glass, paper mache and have lately been collecting unusual previously owned goodies that I re-purpose. Some might call it a "junk pile" but I lovingly call it my "Junque".
Within the past year I have started to design my own painting patterns. It was something I have wanted to try, took a lot of work to do and am learning more about the design end every day. This collage is a small representation of the patterns I have designed to date. I have been very fortunate to have some of my patterns accepted into two of the E-magazines (The Pixelated Palette and Painting E-Zine).
