Nut Roll

Who doesn't like NUT ROLL ??



You will need:

4 1/2 cups flour
1 lb. butter
3 egg yolks - reserve whites
Yeast mixture: 1 cup warm water, 2 cakes of yeast, 5 Tablespoons sugar

Mix the flour and butter together until it forms little crumbs.
Add egg yolks and beat well.   Add the yeast mixture and mix until the dough is smooth and shiny.
Roll out and fill with your favorite filling.    Let set for 30 minutes.  While resting lightly beat egg whites and brush on top of the rolls.   Place on greased cookie sheet and bake until golden brown.
When done, cover with a damp towel till cool.

This makes 4 loaves.

You can use nuts as a filling, lekvar or apricot.
